The Heritage Builds Bridges website went live on the 18th September.
The launch was marked by a series of events from 8th to the 19th September.
Children came and discovered all about Victorian shops and made their own shop fronts and business cards at Shopping Heaven, an exciting family learning event.
They also explored the hidden stories behind the Victorian faces as well as some wonderful toys from the past, and they got the opportunity to create their own pictures using colours, chalk or collage.
A week of events to celebrate the launch culminated with a well attended day with both children and parents enjoying a school lesson at the 'Puddlefoot' Elementary School. Over 30 children were taken back in time to a Victorian school. They had as colleagues the clever James Plum and the badly behaved Willie Brown who was sent twice to the corner and told to sit down with the Dunces cap on! There was singing, dancing and marching. There was also a time to learn the 3 R's.
There was even time for washing clothing with the washing dolly and for hanging it using the dolly pegs. The children were surprised to uncover all these wonders. At the end they all received a certificate 'For good conduct and cheerful learning' and they left with their Victorian name badges and a smile in their faces.
