Volunteers & Thank you

Volunteers are an important part of this project.

Do you have:

• An enthusiasm for history
• A willingness to learn
• A detailed and methodical approach
• Local knowledge and
• a willingness to travel

Then your heritage needs you!

We are keen to involve as many people as possible in working to preserve local and national heritage. Explore the collections, contribute to their preservation and help to make the material accessible to everyone.

No previous experience is required and you will actively work with historic archive collections:

British Foreign School Society and Brunel University collections:

• Sorting and indexing photographs dating from the 19th and 20th centuries
• Conserving archival records
• Repacking teaching materials
• Creating basic finding aids for researchers

London Borough of Hillingdon collection:

• Identifying, labelling and preparing the photographic collection for scanning
• Cataloguing digitised images
• Listing archives
• Cataloguing maps

We have roles to suit most people so please consider donating some of your time. Travel expenses will be paid.
